Image Response Provider example could be easier to get started with

      qtdeclarative/examples/quick/imageresponseprovider

      It builds a plugin, which is installed awkwardly if you build it in the source dir, and then it's not clear how to run the example. If it's meant to run with 

      qml -I somepath something.qml

      then the docs should say so.

      If you open it from the Creator Welcome screen, it doesn't run out-of-the-box.
