Drop indicator not painted according to selection behavior

When using a view with drop indicator enabled, the drop indicator is painted around the item or between the items where the drop will occur, regardless of the selection behavior of the view. However, if the selection behavior is SelectRows or SelectColumns, one would expect that the drop indicator is drawn around the entire row or column, or between the entire rows or columns, where the drop will occur.
