Serious QML regression caused by fix for QTBUG-16319

      The fix for QTBUG-16319 has introduced a regression, resulting in some
      elements not being given their correct initial size (and perhaps
      other issues that hasn't been spotted yet).

      git bisect was used to pinpoint the bad commit:

      82ff3f484c7ec49e60b7fddf23794937974a6768 is the first bad commit
