check qmake for any redundant carbon API calls on OS X. And fix if necessary.

    Description

      Go through the qmake source code, searching for any left over carbon API calls etc, remove them, replacing them with their modern equivalents.

      Also fix the hardcoded MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET variable in the Makefile.

      Any suggestions on how to go about this peoples? (or technical objections?)
