QDeclarativeMesh is a natural candidate for subclassing, as the developer knows a lot more about how it will be used than Qt3D and can optimize accordingly. However, the class is not currently suitable for subclassing as many important functions are not virtual.

The classes private implementation will also need to be examined to see if any functionality there needs to be exposed to mesh subclasses.
