Currently many autotests relays on external deployable files (QTBUG-21721), but DEPLOYMENT variable is documented to be no-op on systems different then Symbian or WinCE.

There two possible solutions:
1. make DEPLOYMENT variable cross-platform.
2. replace autotests to use different way of deploying (RESOURCES?)

I suggest solution 1, as probably it is the easiest one (in most cases it is enough to update docs)
