To get more detailed control over QML instances it would be great to have QDeclarativeMetaType (and maybe some others) available in the public API. One use case for this would be the wish to save an existing object tree with e.g. repositioned Items to a QML parser compatible file. The className offered by QMetaObject is not of much help in this case.
