edit control text offset in Qt 4.8.0 on Mac OS X

      The contents of QLineEdit and QSpinBox controls are not correctly left aligned in Qt 4.8.0 on Mac OS X. See the attached screenshots of the identical 'configdialog' example built with Qt 4.7.4 and Qt 4.8.0 (both standard binaries downloaded from Nokia). Notice how the text is offset from the left of the QTextEdit in Qt 4.8.0. It looks very odd.

      The problem does not occur in Windows.
