Installer does not start Qt Creator on Ubuntu 11.10

On the last page of the installer, there is a check box to launch Qt Creator.

When checked an attempt is made to open Qt Creator but it fails silently. On the console the error is:

Qt/Qt Creator have been installed with the default setup offers by the installer.
