Input method support API and more detailed documentation

I need these features:
1. API for creating a caret and set it's position.
2. API for controlling the position of the input method's composing window.

Currently, the documents for input method is too little to understand, can someone write more documents in more details?

Real world application need to control every thing, include writing a new text edit control.
