youtubeview does not run from Qt Creator nor from the command-line

What I did

Open Qt Creator
Press ["Ctrl + 1"]
Click [Examples]
Choose the "YouTube View Example"
Press Ctrl+R to run

What I expected to see

A window with a video playing

What I instead got

A small window with no content.

I then tried to run it from the command line

What I did

.\examples\webkitqml\youtubeview\youtubeview.exe

What I expected to see

A window with a video playing

What I instead got

A large window with some Qt Quick content, and a busy indicator spinning forever.
