Having Qt Creator as a required component in the installer seems counter-intuitive given that there are multiple installers available, including the standalone installer for Qt Creator. Even the most "basic" of Qt users can end up with multiple installations of Qt Creator easily. This can cause problems for users, for example one Qt Creator instance overwriting the settings of another and surprising the user when their settings have inexplicably changed. Anyone who has developed plugins for Qt Creator has probably likely seen this side-effect.

Furthermore, Qt Creator is not a requirement in order to use Qt. Release versions of Qt Creator will likely fall out of sync with Qt itself, obsoleting the Qt Creator installation before the Qt version. Many users will opt to use a different version of Qt Creator (or another IDE) and therefore should not be forced to install software which they do not intend to use.
