Consider an enhancement to QtLocation providing a geomonitoring service that goes beyond what the existing QGeoAreaMonitor class provides. This service would offer:

• offline monitoring (an app can add geomonitors to a service which, upon a monitoring event, can cause notification through the OS or invocation of another app, even after the original app has terminated);
• monitored area is a QGeoShape, with potential for more than just a circular area;
• monitored area has an optional expiration date/time, and can expire upon a specific monitoring event occurring;
• a large number of geomonitors can be added to and handled by the service.
