Graphics regressions in distance field text

      I tracked this down to change fd5c629f4336b1f79 (Don't use Vertexarrays)

      It seems to be causing a lot of graphics issues related to distance field text items on mac. I have attatched a few examples you see if you launch the gallery and click around the tabs a little.

      Note that it really looks like the first argument to buffer was incorrectly set. (from -1.0 to 1.0)
