qmlscene always starts with a white screen on OS X when used with the '--fullscreen' argument

The qmlscene is great for demos and as a PowerPoint replacement. When run normally it will start up in the colour of the first view you can see. However when run with --fullscreen even if the root is color: "black" the screen goes white for almost a second before taking on the correct colour.
