The MacPorts Qt4-mac (4.8.6) environment is set to use the QtCurve theme: this has NO incidence on the rendering bug.

Description
Selecting a font that is not the platform default Lucida Grande 14 (or 12, whatever is the true default) works, but not systematically.
Attached are screenshots from Qt4 Creator (as shipped through MacPorts) and qtconfig's font selection panel. The 1st qtconfig pic is built and runs against qt4-mac from MacPorts, the 2nd against an official 4.8.1 build.
The large font shown in the shots is the platform default which does not correspond to the selected font.
NB: (re)selecting a default font via KDE's systemsetting font control panel does have the effect of rendering the "offending" elements in the screenshots with the selected font, but this is undone as soon as the window receives an update event.
