QWebElement API or alternative

I thought I'd list some use cases for a QWebElement-like API

• Adblocking or filtering of other certain elements (plugins, gifs, etc.) - or "click to flash"
• "Hinting", i.e. selection of links via keyboard, see https://github.com/The-Compiler/qutebrowser/blob/master/doc/img/hints.png
• Determining if the focused element is editable for various reasons
• Form/Login autofill
