The LUpdate tool produces the correct codes in the TS file but linguist shows simply two rows of "French Translation" rather than indicating which box is FR and which is CA. The Linguist user doesn't know which box to fill in for each variant.

There may be other cases where script may be used instead such as the case with traditional and simplified chinese translations in the same project.
