touch events not recognized for trackpad

After checking Qt samples (pinchzoom and gestures) I noticed touch events are not recognized for my trackpad, i.e. those apps simply do not work. From the other side, they recognize touch screen events fine. So it seems like Qt does not handle certain hardware well.

I am sure gestures are enabled and I regularly use them when browsing the web, e.g. pinch zoom or two finger scrolling, three and four finger gestures also work fine.
