QLineEdit/Text Edit no longer has "Insert Unicode Characters" for the Windows version

    XMLWordPrintable

Details

    Description

Relates to sf task 26814. Qt Linguist used to possess a menu item "Insert Unicode Characters" so that text translation strings could be edited to contain special characters. This is a feature of QLineEdit/QTextEdit that seems to have been removed in Qt for Windows in 4.5.2. The feature is still present on Mac and X11 versions.

To reproduce, open the text editor demo in Qt for Windows 4.5.2 and try right-clicking on the text. There is no "Insert Unicode Characters" present.
