Support protocol activation in WinRT

how do i listen for a windows.protocol activation sent to Application::OnActivated in my Qt app? https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/xaml/hh779670.aspx

emit a signal in AppContainer::OnActivated that i can listen for https://github.com/qtproject/qtbase/blob/dev/src/winmain/qtmain_winrt.cpp#L184

how do i workaround this in 5.4 to by overriding AppContainer::onActivated or another way?
