Description
By adding the "Segoe UI Emoji" and "Segoe UI Symbols" fonts as fallbacks it's possible to provide support for emoji (and other Unicode symbolic characters) without requiring users to set special fonts for controls or similar. The support is basic (characters are monochrome) and only works on Windows 7 and newer, but it's still more convenient than the current state.
This is not entirely without precedence, it seems the CoreText support uses the same approach to support Apple Color Emoji.
