When resizing a child widget to 0x0 then it will not trigger an immediate update. Once something is done to cause an update (such as a resize of the parent) then the child will be rendered with a size of 0x0.

The example attached will resize the child after 5 seconds, if it is changed to 1x1 or the child is hidden instead then it works fine.
