The QFileSelector only considers qrc: or file: schemes when determining if the base file is a local file. On Android the assets: scheme is also "local" and could be particularly useful as the QFileSelector mechanism could easily navigate the assets structure for example for selecting the correct images for the device dpi. At the moment this wouldn't be possible.
