Planets example is hard to use with touch devices

The customized sliders in Planets example have only the small handle as interactive area that you can use to drag the sliders. This leads to bad user experience on touch devices. A solution to this is to make an invisible area around the styled slider handle so that the visual look is maintained, but the interactive area becomes larger.
