      Windows and widgets using OpenGL are shown black with Qt 5.5.0 while they work normally with Qt 5.4.1. This is probably a graphics driver issue on certain VMware virtual machines. But as it works with Qt 5.4.1, we might be able to do something to the problem .

      I have heard of problems with QOpenGLWidgets as well as with Qt Quick. This can be reproduced at least with Hello GL example. This has been tested on WMware Workstation with various Windows and MSVC versions. And the tested applications have been verified to work on Windows desktop (i.e. not virtualized) with Qt 5.5.0.

      The following driver has been used when the problem occurs and updating the driver (i.e. the VMware version) has helped to fix the problem.

      Dynamic GL LibGL Vendor: VMware, Inc.
      Renderer: Gallium 0.4 on SVGA3D; build: RELEASE;
      Version: 2.1 Mesa 8.1-devel (git-48a3d4e)
      Shading language: 1.20

      Card name: VMware SVGA 3D
      Driver Name: vm3dum.dll
      Driver Version: 7.14.1.5026
