I think the Multimedia Framework should support gap less playback of media files. Currently if you have one movie in a loop playlist, the screen is cleared after the movie is done, and then after a few milliseconds restarts with the playback. Gstreamer already supports it, see the difference between:
gst-play-1.0 test.mp4 test.mp4
and
gst-play-1.0 --gapless test.mp4 test.mp4
