Ctrl+U does not work initially

      The Ctrl+U keyboard shortcut for clearing a text field does not work initially.

      When I click the "Clear (Ctrl+U)" action in the context menu, it clears the field. After that Ctrl+U clears the text field as expected. This affects both TextField and TextArea.

      This has originally been reported as Bug 355480 on the KDE Bug Tracker.
