Create a resolution independant paint engine

It would be useful if Qt had a paint engine (similar to QPicture) that was capable of serializing paint commands in a resolution independent way such that primitives and fonts could be specified with a fractional point size instead of a pixel size and this could then be drawn on other paint devices.
