Low text rendering quality with Graphics View using OpenGL viewport

XMLWordPrintable

When using graphic items in a QGraphicsView with an OpenGL viewport, text rendering quality is very low (not to say lousy) with Qt 4.6 beta. This was not the case with Qt 4.5.x under the same hardware/system setup. See attached demo program and screenshots. Detected using QGraphicProxyWidget, but also affects other QGraphicItems which do render text.

      Hardware configuration:

      • Windows XP SP2
      • ATI FireGL V3400
      • Driver Packaging Version 8.583
      • OpenGL Driver Version 6.14.10.8501
