Difference between flush() and sync() undocumented in QSettingsPrivate

While trying to read the QSettings code i came across the flush() and sync() methods of QSettingsPrivate and to the external eye they seem kind of interchangable, would be nice to know what's exactly the difference between them in case someone wants to implement a new backend.
