    Description

Long standing bug, created new issue as it is more broad than the specific case described in the original report. Presumably the same bug but applies to more than just bold styled text. Italics, colours, font changes etc all seem to affect a lists numbers/bullet points style which prevents a consistent numbering/bullet style for the list.

Related bug report (specific to bold):
      2010 - https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-13036
      2014 - https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-41436

Reproduced in the QTextEdit/richtext/textedit QtCreator example/demo on Windows 8.1 x64. Scrolled down to the numbered list and toggled bold/italic, the number inherited the style changes to the adjacent text.

I am not a Qt developer, but could forward any additional information needed to the project dev or attempt to aquire it myself(I am a dev with strong technical skills). I am using a Qt app "QOwnNotes" with related bug report here: https://github.com/pbek/QOwnNotes/issues/437

The maintainer says it is a bug with QTextEdit widget. Attached is a picture of the app, the widget with the bug is on the right pane. This real world example shows how the various text styles cause consistency issues in list formatting.
