When showing two glyphs from different scripts where one is a combining character then it won't always show the combining character correctly

When showing two glyphs from different scripts where one is a combining character then it won't always show the combining character correctly.

With the attached example, on macOS it is showing the two glyphs but not exactly how they are represented in the Unicode standard, on Embedded Linux then the combining character is represented with a square instead.
