arch linux, which just upgraded to qt-5.8.0
Description
5 problems can be seen with VLC:
- systray does not work, it stays a real window.
- the right button menus are scattered all over the place.
- in fullscreen, the progress bar can be moved around and remembers its position. not any more with wayland.
- there is a DVD menu normally, which is not visible at all here.
- preferences window is not properly refreshed any more
the developers of VLC say QT is guilty by offering no API to make the GUI as before:
https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/17910
would you be able to clarify? basically the message is QT platform abstraction (QPA) is useless.
(marking critical as i saw the detached menu placement with other applications as well, for wayland i guess it would be blocker)
