MapItemView has a problem when adding items to connected model not at the end, but in the middle of row list. For example, having a model with 1 row and adding an item at row 0 should make MapItemView show two map items for both rows. Instead, only one map item is shown. When the new row is added at the end of the row list, in this example that would be row number 1, MapItemView correctly shows a second map item.
