Please provide a plugin for supporting fcitx in a closed-source application that is statically linked against Qt.

On UIbuntu16, the default IME is fcitx instead of ibus.  Ubuntu 16 ships with the fcitx plugin installed for Qt applications that dynamically link Qt, but our application is statically linked against Qt.  When we contacted Qt support, we were told plugins must be statically linked when Qt is linked statically. While it may be possible to compile fcitx and statically link it into our application, the license used for the fcitx plugin does not allow this for closed-source applications.

We would like to see Qt arrange for a license exception with the fcitx group to allow the fcitx plugin (not all of fcitx, just the plugin) to be linked into a closed-source application so that Qt can ship the source for the plugin and have it linked into commercial applications that are statically linked against Qt.
