Sofkeys example highlight text so that it inlcludes one whitespace in selection.
Click the selected text to lauch FEP. See that FEP contains selection (text is highlighted) and press a/2.

After the crash hardware "softkeys" won't respond to anything so user can't exit the application. You can reset the state by pressing power - key to bring up a system dialog and after that you can exit the application by pressing "hang-up" key.
