Opening QML file in design mode breaks layout and focus when opened in a secondary (laptop) display

When I move Qt Creator to my secondary display, on a Lenovo laptop, the UI layout breaks and the mouse cursor picks arbitrary items to focus, not the one I'm pointing at. The UI also becomes somewhat non-responsive. When opening another mode, they layout problems persist, until I move focus away from Qt Creator. After that everything works normal in other modes besides Design mode.
