The ease of use positioning plugin for Windows 10 (Desktop / Laptop) in Qt apps would be our priority. Today there is as you say a possibility to use a NMEA position plugin, however, this requires way too much from normal end-users (find correct GPS-hardware-to-serial port drivers, set up COM ports / correct baud rate etc.) as they are used to plug-and-play from Android and iOS devices.
The positioning plugin in Qt itself is great, and easy to use for many other platforms, but at the moment, I haven't found a way to use it that is simple enough for average Windows 10 end-users. If Qt could provide this, it would help us make better software for our customers. Windows 10 support is the first priority, as the laptops with GPS hardware usually has Win10 operating system. Thus legacy support back to Win7 is not important at all to us.
