ld.gold internal error on clang/Ubuntu

    • Ubuntu 16.04 LTS 4.4.0-112-generic #135-Ubuntu SMP core x86_64.

      LLVM installed in non-standard directory.

      While building with linux-clang mkspec with linked ffmpeg libraries the ld.gold linker produces the following error:

      /usr/bin/ld.gold: internal error in override_version, at ../../gold/resolve.cc:61

      For me this issue became incurable because I need to build Qt using clang. I solved the problem replacing ld.gold with lld in the mkspec.
