Suggestion for making painting of large QSlider more efficient on Mac

    Description

      It would be nice to make the QSlider more efficient. For example the painting of a QSlider that has been resized to the entire screen takes up about 75% CPU of a 2GHz Mac.

      A small size slider takes less CPU. A sliders of a more reasonable size uses around 15% cpu on a 2 GHz dual core machine Mac.
