Compositor: Improve support for compositors without a QWindow (i.e. screen)

We currently depend on QWindow for sending frame events and maybe in other ways, this doesn't work too well with compositors that don't use a QWindow for drawing their content. I.e. different types of hardware layer compositors.

We should see if we can relax this dependency, may be a task for Qt 6 if we have to break API.
