Provide a data type defintion for memory layout selection (of the QList class)

    Description

      The implementation of the class “QList” contains a compile time check for its memory layout.
      I propose to use a data type definition there so that such a typedef can be reused by other software.
      Will any more classes offer an interface to determine this implementation detail?
