static build can’t read xml with encoding='ASCII' (but shared build can)

      I have xml files starting with

      <?xml version='1.0' encoding='ASCII'?>

      where

      QXmlStreamReader::readNextStartElement

      fails with »Encoding ASCII is unsupported«. 

      As i understand it, support should be provided by icu. 

      Can you give me any pointers as to why this wouldn’t work?
