      Hi everyone,

Would it be possible for Qt 5.12+ to use OpenSSL 1.1.1 by default?

From 2020, everyone will have to recompile Qt if they want to use OpenSSL, because prebuilt Qt will be compiled against an unsupported version of OpenSSL.

      https://www.openssl.org/policies/releasestrat.html:

With regards to current and future releases the OpenSSL project has adopted the following policy:

      • The next version of OpenSSL will be 3.0.0.
      • Version 1.1.1 will be supported until 2023-09-11 (LTS).
      • Version 1.1.0 will be supported until 2019-09-11.
      • Version 1.0.2 will be supported until 2019-12-31 (LTS).
