Description
Note: This report is merely for gaining an estimate of the required work and potential benefits/drawbacks of removing Windows 7 support. It does not imply any decision.
Benefits:
- This would enable a substantial code cleanup:
- Fully rely on pointer handling replacing WinTab
- Directly invoke newer WinAPI functions instead of dynloading in a number of places (see systemlib.txt)
Estimated workload: 1..2d
Note however that this is tied to minimum supported version of MinGW.
