TextEdit link hover not working when hovered from bottom when it contains mousearea

When hovering onto a link inside a TextEdit QML component which contains a Mouse area, the link seems to be detected only when starting to hovered from top or from the left of the link and not when hovered from bottom. If there are lines of text above and below the link, then the link does not work when hovered from any direction except from the beginning of the link. This makes using links difficult.
