Copying text after foreign language input deletes text instead of copying

I've had reports it happens for other languages too, but I only tested with Japanese.

1) Switch to Japanese input (hiragana), type something
2) Hit enter to commit the string
3) Select the text with the mouse, not the keyboard
4) Command+c

The text disappears. If you select the text with the keyboard instead, it seems to work.
