So far we don't do a very good job of using autotests to validate our API.  We have a few tests that are yet to be integrated currently in the autotest branch, but this is just the start of what needs to be done.  At the very least we need to have autotests for all public API's and ideally much of the backend should be tested as well.  Now that there is less churn it is time to make sure we are reasonably well covered by autotests.  This is also important if we want to be a proper module in Qt project.
