QFileDialog: does not create a directory that doesn't yet exist when a new directory name is entered into the search field

The QFileDialog does not allow (without subclassing and some additional code) the user to enter a directory name which doesn't yet exist and have it created in the current parent directory. This would be a useful feature and would emulate the behaviour seen in Motif's file browser.
